Mission Statement:

KINOG stands for Kids In Need Of Guidance. KINOG is a (Non Profit) crime prevention program designed to detour kids away from criminal activity by providing a safe environment for them to positively engage with their peers. With an emphasis on entrepreneurial guidance in record label producing and musical training, KINOG works with partnering groups to enhance the quality of life for at risk youth.

About KINOG:

Through the powerful force of music, the diverse individuals that comprise KINOG are able to overcome prevailing influences in society that lead to criminal participation. Structured as a mentor based program, members of varying ages sponsor one another and work actively with their peers in designing group activities with an emphasis on fostering creativity. The strong creative spirit instilled within KINOG enables members to choose and craft their own ways to express themselves. Music, Theater, Art Crafts, Dance and Poetry are all highly valued mediums members are encouraged to explore.

Small Business Networking:

Members are able to create their own small business projects under the tutelage of successful small business owners. Members are able to choose individual projects to develop with the guidance of the mentor staff. The primary music project is a collaborative effort with a group of up to ten mentor’s and members. Each stage of the record label process is taught: producing, engineering, graphic design and recording. The musical project is designed to offer each member a chance to specialize his or her skills in each various stage of the album process. Because members produce numerous album projects, each member is able to alternate their focus from graphic design to sound engineering within various projects.

Guest Musical Mentors:

Guest artists frequent KINOG to contribute group talks and individual mentoring services. Within KINOG’S goals of building thoughtful, socially conscious music, each guest artist works to educate and reinforce community oriented, positive lyrical content in each of the music album projects. Through sharing personal stories, addressing relevant societal issues that affect urban life, and working one on one with members, the guest artist’s enhance KINOG’S goal of fostering strong leadership.

Recreational Activities:

In conjunction with the musical training and mentoring, members craft their own outdoor activities and destinations. With an emphasis on building freedom of choice in the lives of members, each individual member designs adventures for the entire group. The members are taken to sports events and activities that are teaching them to work together as a team. We offer a welcoming center for them to come to and express them selves through arts and crafts, music, homework guidance, and volunteering for other non profit organizations. The belief of you have to give to receive in life is very strong amongst the mentors.
